Work on site at Tudor Place is continuing, with activity now moving forward across different areas of the site. Following our July newsletter, we want to provide residents with a further update on the work currently taking place, particularly in the area of the site closest to Whinberry Drive.
Works near Whinberry Drive
Remediation works within this part of the site are now complete, with the area now moving into the next stage of construction.
Over the coming weeks and months, the main activities residents can expect to see will be earthworks and ground preparation. This will involve construction machinery working across the area as levels are prepared, with the materials excavated and moved around the site.
Work will also take place to create the attenuation basin, which will form a key part of the site’s drainage system, helping to manage surface water naturally while providing space for nature and wildlife.
Some of this work could involve periods of increased activity close to the site’s boundary. We will continue to keep residents updated as works progress.
As with any construction project, the timing and sequencing of these individual activities can shift. All works are dependent on weather conditions, necessary approvals and licenses, and the wider build programme.
Managing dust during the hot and dry weather
We are aware that dust has been a particular issue for some residents living close to the site during the recent period of exceptionally hot and dry weather and understand the inconvenience this can cause.
Multiple measures are in place on site to mitigate these impacts, such as:
- A dedicated road sweeper operates throughout the working day to help keep the surrounding highways clean.
- Water suppression being used regularly across the construction areas and site roads to reduce any dust where possible. However, with current drought conditions affecting large parts of the country, we need to carefully manage the amount of water being used on site.
- Additional dust screening / meshing is also being installed around the site boundary, including the section closest to Cherryfield Drive, to limit the amount of dust travelling.
- We are also continuing with regular Air Quality Monitoring Assessments at locations across the site.
All measures will remain under review and will be adapted wherever necessary as works progress.
Looking ahead
Across the wider site, infrastructure and foundation works are continuing as Tudor Place moves into the next phase of development, including the construction of new homes above ground.
